Loose Fill Installation Project at a School
Before and after pictures of the Reception Class play area at St. Thomas's RC Primary School, Tean, Staffordshire.
Our team removed the exhausted bark and replaced with our wonderful blue Rubber Chippings.
The area also originally consisted of sleepers which were dangerously set in exposed concrete.
Our solution to this problem was to apply our 'Bonded Rubber' surface to completely cover the concrete, ensuring the steps are now very safe for the children to walk down.

The School had significant access restrictions, so we were able to arrange the unloading of the bulk bags of Rubber Chippings utilising a ‘Moffett Mobile Forklift Truck’.
This allowed us to unload the bags on the road and transport them over the School playing field and place them adjacent to the Reception Class play area.
The entrance was quite steep, uneven and didn’t lend itself to the regular unloading method.
The Moffett Forklift. This delivery method is available for orders of 5 or more bulk bags with a surcharge applied.
Perfect for larger orders where access is restricted.
Ideal for uneven tracks and roadways.
Can travel on the grass!
The very experienced Operator lines the bags up neatly ready for our installation team.
The poor play area was ready for a facelift.
The team remove the old membrane.
Removing the bark and the membrane.
Every last piece had to be removed!
The team start to lay the new Heavy Duty Geotextile.
The Blue Rubber Chippings start to be imported into the play area.
What a difference!
The bright blue Rubber Chippings give the whole area a new lease of life.
The Team carefully ‘Resin Bonded’ the Blue Rubber Chippings over the exposed concrete, ensuring the chippings can’t move!
The Blue was chosen to fall in line with the School colours.
We decided to cover the tired decking area with artificial grass as it had become very slippery and looked ready for a facelift!
The blue and the green look so well together!
The reconditioned play shed looks well too!
The team really worked so hard to provide the look the School required, double checking every procedure with the Teachers through every step of the installation.
The job is completed!
