We will be delighted to provide you with budget costs for the installation if you will be kind enough to do the following:

  • Take 4/5 photographs of the area where the Rubber Bonding play area is being considered
  • Take 2/3 photographs of the access to the area, paths driveway etc
  • Provide the width and the length
  • Determine the maximum fall height which may occur from the play equipment
  • E-mail the details to info@playbark.com and we will endeavour to reply within 24 hours with an estimate for your consideration

Of course, we will be delighted to visit your premises. We will be only too pleased to measure the area for you along with offering ideas and advice. Thereafter, we will forward a formal quotation to you which will fully explain the scope of works we will be offering.

This surface is ready for play 48 hours after it is installed, providing a rigid but soft play surface which cannot be kicked around, therefore ensuring an even depth of play surfacing consistently over the entire area

Quite a lot, but our team perform these installations regularly so they know what they are doing. Once initial observations have been considered e.g. drainage, product selection and access etc. we then look at the process outlined below.

Here is a brief rundown of what may be involved, the photos below and video above show an example of an installation:

  • Removal of existing surface, turf, gravel or soil using a turf cutter, concrete breaker or maybe a mini digger. (This may not be necessary if we are bonding onto a hard surface)
  • Dispose of the above in a skip or ‘muckaway’ service
  • Level area and install tanalised timbers or Rubber Border Edging to the surrounds if required
  • Import into the area the MOT Type 1 to be used as a sub-base
  • Mechanically compact the sub-base with a ‘wacker plate’
  • Apply a heavy duty Geotextile Membrane to help prevent weed growth and secure
  • Mix on-site the Rubber and Resin in our special forced action mixer and apply at the specified depth to the area by hand
  • Roll the area to achieve the perfect finish

One of the wonderful benefits of Bouncy Bond is that it is so easy to look after. Every 4-6 weeks it is good practice to give the surface a ‘once over’ with a leaf blower, this will remove any loose debris and help to keep it in great condition. For more stubborn spills or stains, use soapy water with a medium/soft brush to gently remove.

Bouncy Bond is derived from recycled SBR industrial tyres utilising a polyurethane colorant as a coating.

The surface colour will eventually fade and the colour will wear off leaving a darker shade of rubber.

The surface is still extremely safe as it won’t have lost it’s structural integrity and will still comply with BS EN1177:2018.w

With this in mind, Bouncy Bond is ideal for areas where older children will play such as Primary Schools where darker footwear is worn.

If you consider that this may be an issue, we politely direct you to our Wet Pour Surfaces page.

Testimonials

We asked playbark.com to install a Bouncy Bond rubber play surface at our property more than 7 years ago. We initially used it very successfully beneath a climbing frame, which our children have since outgrown. After removing the frame, it was possible to “convert” it to an area to site a trampoline with minimal amounts of disruption due to the surface still performing well. I look forward to the children using it for the next 7 years
