We sell a range of construction and landscaping aggregates including 10mm and 20mm drainage/landscape gravel, building sand, sharp concrete sand, concreting ballast, MOT Type 1 and Type 3 sub-base, grano dust, kiln dried paving sand, post mix concrete, dove grey limestone chippings, LECA clay aggregate, trowling/smoothing agent and white rock salt.
MOT Type 1 is a crushed stone sub-base material used under driveways, paths, patios and foundations. It compacts well to form a stable, load-bearing base and drains freely. It's the standard sub-base specification for most construction and landscaping projects.
Building sand (soft sand) is fine and smooth, used for bricklaying, rendering and plastering. Sharp sand (grit sand) is coarser and more angular, used for concreting, screeding and floor laying. They're not interchangeable — use the right type for your application.
Concreting ballast is a pre-mixed blend of sand and gravel (aggregate) that's ready to mix with cement and water to make concrete. It's commonly used for foundations, slabs, fence posts and general concreting work.
Grano dust (granite dust) is a fine aggregate used as a base layer under paving slabs, block paving and artificial grass. It compacts well, provides a smooth, level surface and allows drainage.
LECA (Lightweight Expanded Clay Aggregate) is an ultra-lightweight aggregate used for drainage layers, green roofs, rooftop gardens and horticultural applications. It's pH neutral, chemically inert and doesn't break down over time.

Kiln dried paving sand is used for brushing into the joints between paving slabs and block paving. It's been dried in a kiln so it flows freely into gaps, helping to lock paving in place and prevent weed growth.
